Weindling Applegate Computing Limited (WACL) was formed to provide computer services, consultancy and problem-solving expertise to small businesses in South and West Wales. We are based in Swansea with easy access to the M4.
WACL’s systems consultants have over 60 years experience in IT in a variety of industries and commercial enterprises. We listen to our clients’ aspirations regarding their existing or desired computer systems and advise how effectively and most efficiently to achieve the required results. We discuss our clients computing problems with them and advise or assist in overcoming these problems.

Computer Networking
Computer networking, one of our main service provisions, is the linking of computers such that data may be shared between them. Major advantages are that only one set of this data need be kept, reducing maintenance, and this data need not then suffer the problems that duplication may incur such as one set becoming out of date or including differing errors. WACL founders were involved in large scale commercial networking in its infancy in the late seventies and have dealt with networking in various forms from that time on.

Wireless Networking
We believe that with the advent of reasonably priced and efficient wireless networking facilities, including Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, it is now feasible for the smaller business to take advantage of this technology and, with our experience in this field, we can install and maintain secure networked systems with the flexibility inherent in limited distance high frequency radio communications.
Cabled network installations still have their place, too. The higher speed computer links provided by cabling may be a more effective answer in many situations especially within larger offices or where interference or radio-opaque materials suppress signals between systems.
Combinations of cabled and wireless systems are often the most cost-effective solution for many businesses, combining flexibility where needed with higher speed data access and transfer, always providing appropriate consideration is given to overall security.
